YHTÄ: Listening for what unites us.

Joni Vierre is a Finnish composer, musician, and educator whose work blends composition, improvisation, and intercultural collaboration. Drawing on influences from jazz, folk, and global traditions, he creates music that prioritizes listening, exchange, and connection beyond genre.

Yhtä explores the intersection of original composition and improvisation as a means to foster human connection. In a time marked by social and cultural polarization, the music seeks to uncover what brings us together—through listening, interaction, and shared expression. Framed within an intercultural context, the performance engages with the idea of common humanity and the evolving meaning of being together.
