This concert features two different ensembles

The concert has a limited number of seats, and they will be filled on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

The All Abilities Band

The All Abilities Band (AAB) is an inclusive, accessible music and movement ensemble that brings together people from neurodivergent, physically divergent, and culturally diverse backgrounds. A diverse range of instruments and voices are used in the band, including acoustic and electronic instruments. Band members will perform their own music compositions and folk songs, drawing inspiration from the diversity of the ensemble and the world around us.

Composition Ensemble

This ensemble presents new works by five composers from the Global Music and Composition departments in collaboration with performers from Classical instruments and Global music programs, composers are: Arman Abolghasemi, Fernando Salazar Boza, Mohammad Javad Tavazonizadeh, Sara MajidiNejad, Ue Hang (Tony) Wong. The programme reflects diverse artistic backgrounds and explores contemporary approaches to transcultural composition, with Marcelo Chacur Politano and Jaime Belmonte as coordinators.

The programme features a dynamic sound world shaped by a diverse range of instruments and musical influences, including violin, viola, contrabass, bandoneon, accordion, piano, multi-percussion, and flute & oriental woodwinds.

Global Spring

Global Spring is an annual festival featuring students, teachers, alumni and special guests representing Sibelius Academy’s Global music programme. The global music studies embraces pluralistic, fluid approaches to sound, culture and identity, creating new hybrid musical spaces through intercultural dialogue and collaboration.
