UMO Jazz Orchestra

The connection between UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and American jazz is long and passionate, and the contacts with America have been an important part of UMO’s history. The Americas are also the focus of this concert: the stage is full of the pulse of the Big Apple and the fascinating rhythms of Latin America. Forget the dreary January and join UMO for a unique journey to the heart of America for the price of just a concert ticket! Jazz singer Aili Ikonen takes us along to the landscapes of North America, and we will tune into the rhythms of South America and especially Argentine tango, with a soloist to be released later. The conductor Ville Vannemaa opens the gates to the New World for the orchestra and the guest artists. While UMO guides us through the soundscapes of the Americas, the host of the evening, Laura Haimila, chats with UMO members and UMO’s guests about their most unforge/able memories of America – perhaps we even get a glimpse of future Atlantic crossings.

In addition to single club tickets, you can also purchase a season ticket that includes all six club nights or season tickets for three nights of your choice.

The club has no age limit. The capacity is quite limited; there are only around two hundred tickets available for each night. The seating is club-style, and there is a limited number of unnumbered seats.
