Hassinen’s newly formed acoustic four-man group Future Food Factory and its freshly released debut album are much more restrained – or so he wants you to believe. There may be a few surprises along the way, which is a part of the essence of jazz. With Future Food Factory, Hassinen wants to “explore musical ideas from both sides of the axis: composed and fully improvised as well as acoustic and electronic”.

In the post-production phase, many songs have received layers that differ from traditional quartet jazz. The recorded material has been modified and processed. The album that started acoustically turns into something else along the way.

But why Future Food Factory? “The name came to me as an inspirational and motivational ‘request’. I want to think that the best and most interesting projects are still up ahead.”

Free concerts are held at Musiikkitalo’s terrace on summer afternoons from Thursday to Saturday, from 29 May until 2 August, starting at 5 pm. The concerts feature talented musicians from the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki, as well as other Finnish artists. Throughout the summer, the stage will host a diverse range of interesting artists from different genres: mainly pop music on Thursdays, jazz on Fridays. Additionally, the programme includes interesting performances from the fields of contemporary folk and classical music. The early summer Thursday afternoons are dedicated to the Radio Helsinki KESÄLIVE.

In case of rain, the concert will be held inside in the Musiikkitalo Restaurant.
