The masterclass is taught by the American soprano Dawn Upshaw, one of the jury members of the Mirjam Helin competition. A multiple Grammy winner, Upshaw has championed both contemporary music and a more traditional repertoire, from Bach and Mozart to Stravinsky and Poulenc.

The students will be selected from among the competitors after the preliminary round. The audience is welcome to follow the class.

The event is part of the Singing is for Everyone side programme of the Mirjam Helin Singing Competition.
