A cosmopolitan of Finnish organ artistry, Pétur Sakari, started playing the organ before his feet could even reach the pedalboard. Sakari played his debut concert at the age of 13. A few years later, he was invited to Paris by the Notre Dame Titular Organist Olivier Latry to give a concert on the cathedral organ.

In the first half of the concert, Sakari takes on the heroic masterpieces of 20th-century French organ music. Among them, Robert Schumann’s music is heard on the organ. After the interval, the orchestral power and rhythmic drive of the Musiikkitalo organ return to the fore. The evening ends with improvisation, the ultimate skill for organists. Sakari has proved to be an unbeatable hero even in this demanding art.
