Singa Open Air Karaoke is a free singing event for the whole family that brings Finland’s favorite hobby, karaoke, out of indoor venues and into the public

Singing will fill the park by the Helsinki Music Centre (Musiikkitalo) during the Night of the Arts on August 14th, from 7 PM to 9 PM.

Everyone interested in singing is welcome to join in. Participation is easy since the karaoke videos will be displayed on the largest screen in the Nordics, located on the side of the Music Centre building. In honor of the Night of the Arts, the background videos for the karaoke songs will feature original artwork created for the event by Helsinki-based illustrator Jaana Suortti.

Despite the grand setting, the atmosphere is relaxed. The goal is to give everyone a chance to express themselves, regardless of their singing skills or experience.

Song requests can be submitted during the event using the Singa mobile app, which can be downloaded from your device’s app store. Through the app, users can browse a song library of over 120,000 tracks and practice singing at home. Not all song requests may be fulfilled during the two-hour event, but the singing can continue at one of the hundreds of karaoke venues around Finland that use Singa—or even at home with your own karaoke afterparty. You can try Singa for free at www.singa.com.
