Being grumpy is pop! The music of Vaasa-born songwriter and producer Emma Uusi-Kokko, known as Myrtsi, blends a DIY aesthetic, Ostrobothnian roots and myrtsiys – the art of sulking – without losing a sense of playfulness and fun. Lyrics are the songs’ greatest strength, combining everyday philosophical reflections, vivid imagery and blunt honesty, carried by harmonious melodies. Myrtsi is a certified hitmaker on Radio Helsinki: every release has landed on the charts. In fact, Hipit was one of the station’s most-played tracks last year.

Now it’s time to play, laugh and sulk! See you at Radio Helsingin Kesälive on Thursday, 4 June.

Free concerts are held weekly on the Musiikkitalo summer patio from Thursday to Saturday throughout the summer, 29 May–1 August at 5 pm. See the full summer programme at musiikkitalo.fi/en/summer-concerts.

In case of rain, the concert will take place indoors at the Musiikkitalo Restaurant.
