Musiikkitalo
Folk Thursday on the Musiikkitalo patio! Taking the stage one after another are Marian Kyyneleet and Ystävät.
Marian Kyyneleet
Marian Kyyneleet is a three-piece Finnish folk ensemble whose devastatingly beautiful music seeps under the skin, flowing from ethereal depths to light Balkan jazz-folk grooves. The instrumentation combines cello, piano, saxophone and guitar with the harmonies of two vocalists, resulting in a unique musical journey into states of presence. The band’s music has been described as quiet and healing, and in live performance the group focuses on the superpowers of presence, listening and sensitivity.
The band’s debut album Sietämätön epävarmuus kalvaa (2024) garnered positive attention; for example, Mika Roth of desibeli.net described it in his review as “first-class”. On the new record, the band continues where the previous one left off, with themes of dialogue, hope, peace and openness at the core.
The band’s music has been heard on Radio Suomi, Roll FM and Radio Helsinki, among others. Marian Kyyneleet has performed at the ILMIÖ Festival in Turku, Pop-katu in Joensuu and as the opening act for Pekko Käppi at the Silmien takana club.

Ystävät
Ystävät is a melodic folk supergroup featuring key figures from bands such as Liekki, Lehtivihreät, Lokit, Seksihullut and Särkyneet. Songwriting siblings Juuso and Milla Härmä write songs about small perfect moments, love-tinted memories and bittersweet humanity. The innocent peace-and-love proclamation of 1960s folk, the burning-eyed pathos of Kaj Chydenius’ classics and the naïve warmth of 1970s love songs all resonate strongly in the music – firmly rooted in the present day. Hope rings out in Ystävät’s music.
The band released its debut album in 2024 and is currently working on its second full-length release. The first single from the upcoming album will be released at the end of February 2026. They are Ystävät: Juuso Härmä, Milla Härmä, Sirpa Järvenpää, Mika Kivi, Jesse Koskivuori, Teemu Soininen and Pena Törmälä.
Free concerts are held weekly on the Musiikkitalo summer patio from Thursday to Saturday throughout the summer, 29 May–1 August at 5 pm. See the full summer programme at musiikkitalo.fi/en/summer-concerts.
In case of rain, the concert will take place indoors at the Musiikkitalo Restaurant.
