International Women's Day will be celebrated at the Helsinki Music Centre, led by Anna-Mari Kähärä!

This year’s Women’s Day Celebration Concert honors Kähärä’s long career as a composer and musician, bringing together her closest collaborators and friends. The evening will feature performances by the renowned vocal ensembles Rajaton and How Many Sisters, alongside the Anna-Mari Kähärä Orchestra, joined by guitar virtuosos Jarmo Saari and Marzi Nyman.

The concert, now in its fourth edition, will once again showcase top-tier choirs KYN and Philomela, conducted by Music Counsellor Kaija Viitasalo and Anna Gallon. The evening, hosted by Kähärä, will also shine a spotlight on the brilliant Maria Ylipää and actress Kristiina Halttu, with surprises in store—true to the creative spirit of a Kähärä-designed program.

The Women’s Day Celebration Concert annually showcases Finnish artists through music and poetry. For Kähärä, poetry has always been the greatest source of inspiration in her compositions. This year, the concert also highlights her long-standing collaboration with Anna-Leena Härkönen. Spanning over 30 years, this creative partnership has produced just as many songs, and this spring, the duo will release a songbook together. The concert will present the finest gems of Härkönen and Kähärä’s work.

Join us in celebrating Women’s Day—and Anna-Mari Kähärä’s remarkable journey in the arts!
