This year’s Musica nova Helsinki festival explores perspectives. Things can be viewed either from very close up or very far away, from the inside or outside, by looking back, forward or inward. Prisme by Anahita Abbasi, the festival’s theme composer, delves into the essence and dimensions of sound as if viewed through a glass prism. The work had its premiere in Paris in spring 2026. In 2026, Liza Lim was awarded the prestigious Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition for her cello concerto A Sutured World.
