J. S. Bach: St. John Passion BWV 245

RSO:n Johannes-passio
Johann Sebastian Bach had been Kantor of the Thomaskirche in Leipzig when his first Passion was performed. The taut, dramatic St John Passion relates the Easter events from the arrest and sentencing of Jesus, the crucifixion and death in a way that still strikes the listener to the very core more than three centuries later.
