Krzysztof Penderecki: Sextet, Finnish premiere
Ernst von Dohnányi: Sextet Op. 37

Two large-scale sextets for clarinet, horn, violin, viola, cello and piano. That composed by Polish master Krzysztof Penderecki in 2000 is one of his most outstanding chamber works yet only now to be performed for the first time in Finland. The sextet by Hungarian Ernst von Dohnányi dates from 1935 and is a core representative of its genre. A work with a distinct personal flavour, it looks in many directions – from Mahler to Mendelssohn and from jazz to ragtime, for example.
