Full of love for Nordic folk and fiddle traditions! Leija Lautamaja and Saana Kujala present folk music at the pre‑event of the Aria Borealis competition.

Long‑established folk musicians Saana Kujala and Leija Lautamaja found the core of their musical partnership through dance music and a shared fascination with the distinctive features of Nordic dance traditions. They perform their favourite fiddle tunes from Finland and across the Nordic countries on three‑row diatonic accordion and nyckelharpa.

Throughout the summer, the Musiikkitalo patio sets the mood for baroque music. Around the Aria Borealis singing competition held in October, the atmosphere is already bubbling from May to July. The Boreallas pre‑event and side‑programme series offers a wide range of free experiences.

Free concerts are held weekly on the Musiikkitalo summer patio from Thursday to Saturday throughout the summer, 29 May–1 August at 5 pm. See the full summer programme at musiikkitalo.fi/en/summer-concerts.

In case of rain, the concert will take place indoors at the Musiikkitalo Main Foyer.
