UMO Jazz Orchestra

UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra is the bright shining beacon of the Finnish jazz scene – one might even call it an iconic cultural heritage.

Set your course towards the light as UMO, together with the conductor Kirmo Lintinen, brings you along for a journey through time and the highlights of the history of the orchestra and Finnish big band music. The concert features some of the best works by the finest Finnish jazz composers, such as Kari Heinilä, Severi Pyysalo as well as Lintinen himself. The club night is arranged during UMO’s official anniversary week, and the guest artist is the remarkable singer Vuokko Hovatta, whose deep and soulful interpretation is a perfect addition to the tour de force of Finnish music. The discussions are guided by Laura Haimila’s inimitable style. The Lighthouse club bursts with nostalgia, pride, and love of big band music. Join us in celebration of UMO’s past five decades and the bright future of the orchestra!

In addition to single club tickets, you can also purchase a season ticket that includes all six club nights or season tickets for three nights of your choice.

The club has no age limit. The capacity is quite limited; there are only around two hundred tickets available for each night. The seating is club-style, and there is a limited number of unnumbered seats.
