The Finnish Baroque Orchestra will perform works by Telemann, Nagaraja, J. S. Bach and Veracini in a daytime concert in the Paavo Hall.

The Finnish Baroque Orchestra’s daytime concert in the Paavo Hall in the Music Centre is an opportunity to enjoy Baroque music during the day for a reasonable price, and the concert is well suited also for families. The programme turns our gaze to far-off lands, as even during the Baroque the most cosmopolitan composers were very curious about foreign cultures. During this concert we get to hear many works that have been inspired by exotic styles from other countries. The concert get an influx of current times by the compositions in folk music style by Krishna Nagaraja, who was born in Italy but has lived in the Nordic countries.

And that’s not all! Students of the Helsinki German School bring a breath of fresh air when they together with the Finnish Baroque Orchestra perform a short work that they have created in a Composing Workshop.

The concert is part of the AUF series produced in collaboration with the Helsinki Music Centre and Avanti, UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and Finnish Baroque Orchestra (FiBO). Top orchestras from different genres invite listeners to discover a wide range of musical delicacies.
