Karol Szymanowski: Symphony No. 3 “Song of the Night”
Franz Liszt: A Faust Symphony

“What sounds! Joy rises; truth, on glowing wings, shines in this night!” Franz Liszt took his inspiration from Goethe’s epic of sin, love and redemption. Karol Szymanowski found beauty without limit in the rapturous words of the Persian poet Rumi. But both composers let their imagination take flight, and under former FRSO chief conductor Hannu Lintu, this should be a ravishing first step into our year-long Szymanowski adventure.
