Cécile E.E. Orblin, Emeritus Professor of Awelings, leads us into the world of strange creatures hiding in cities.

Elisar Riddelin, conductor
Cécile Orblin, script and direction, narrator
Antti Auvinen, composition
Tuomas Kärkkäinen, script and illustration

Have you noticed overflowing garbage cans, the ticking sound of traffic lights, or streetlights that are not working? It has to do with strange urban creatures called awelings.

Research into awelings is on the rise, both in Finland and internationally. Now Finns too can take part in a lecture by an eminent aweling researcher in the large lecture hall at Musiikkitalo, the Helsinki Music Centre. At the same time, we will hear brand-new theme compositions about different species of awelings by Mr. A. Auvinen, official five-star composer of the International Society for Aweling Research (ISAR).

The concert is based on Tuomas Kärkkäinen’s children’s book “Suomen ämminkäiset värikuvina” (“The Illustrated Book of Awelings”, S&S 2021).

Season tickets on sale 28 October – 24 November, single tickets go on sale 2 December.
